Dear Sisters and Brothers in Christ,
It’s spring! How do we know its spring? Just look, the signs are all around us. The birds are singing. The weather is warmer. There are buds on the trees. New life is springing up from the earth. But let us remember spring comes after a long, cold winter. The bulbs planted deep in the earth last fall that seemed “dead” through the winter are beginning to grow.
It is the same with the seeds for spiritual renewal. It seemed like it took forever for the seeds to germinate. While waiting for the harvest, we were tested severely and we have developed patience, perseverance and endurance and hope. We cannot dismiss the stormy time of winter as unproductive if we are strengthened in these moments for the long-haul of the journey so-called “Lent.”
As we continue our journey through Lent and holy week, we will observe the glorious Easter. Is it time for renewal and revitalization is a proclamation of victory over death and the promise of new life. So it is my hope and prayer that you will come and experience new life through the worship services described below.
